Austria becomes 1st EU country to make COVID vaccination mandatory
Austria's Parliament approved making COVID-19 vaccinations mandatory for all adults from February, becoming the first European country to do so despite protests opposing the measure. From mid-March, those who refuse to get the vaccine will face fines of up to €3,600 (over ₹3 lakh). Over 75% of Austria's population is fully vaccinated against COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University tracker.
