Austria suspends its mandatory COVID-19 vaccine law
Austria is suspending its COVID-19 vaccine mandate which took effect as law last month. "We see no need to...implement...[law] due to...[Omicron] variant that we're predominantly experiencing here,” an Austrian minister said. The mandate required those aged 18 and above to provide proof of vaccination to authorities, a failure of which could attract fines up to €3,600 (over ₹3 lakh).
