Autoliv, world's biggest maker of airbags and seatbelts, to lay off 8,000 employees

Autoliv, which is the world's biggest maker of airbags and seatbelts, will lay off 8,000 employees. The Swedish company on Thursday said that it would cut around 6,000 direct jobs and up to 2,000 indirect positions, including employees not working directly on production lines. Autoliv stated that it would also close several sites in Europe.
