Autorickshaw drivers in Telangana to go on indefinite strike from August 24

The autorickshaw drivers in Telangana will go on an indefinite strike from August 24. The decision was taken by Joint Action Committee (JAC). They are demanding establishment of a welfare board for autorickshaw and private transport workers, annual assistance of ₹12,000 and accident insurance of ₹5 lakh. "The government's policies have caused us...financial distress," JAC's Arla Sathireddy said.
