Avalanche kills 11 climbers on Russia's Mount Mizhirgi

At least 11 climbers were killed and six injured after an avalanche struck a group of 33 mountaineers on Mount Mizhirgi in Russia's North Caucasus on September 6. Six others remain missing. A 56-person rescue operation is underway amid difficult terrain. Criminal proceedings for negligence have been opened.
