Avinash Sable creates history, wins India's first gold in men's 3,000m steeplechase at Asiad

India's 29-year-old athlete Avinash Sable on Sunday created history by winning India's first-ever gold medal in men's 3,000m steeplechase event at Asian Games. Sable clocked 8:19.53 to win the final at 19th Asian Games in China's Hangzhou. Sable had bagged silver medal at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. India have now won four medals in athletics at 19th Asiad.
