AWS to invest $1 billion in new unit for embedded AI engineers

Amazon Web Services (AWS) on Tuesday announced that it will invest $1 billion towards a new Forward Deployed Engineering unit to help customers build and roll out AI systems. The firm will send five to six pods of engineers to embed into businesses for 45-day periods. Other firms including Palantir, Salesforce, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google Cloud already provide similar services.
