Hindu monk Chinmoy Krishna Das’s mother passed away on Thursday without seeing her jailed son, after Bangladeshi authorities denied his family’s plea for parole to visit her in her final days, reports said. Videos showed Das breaking down and crying inconsolably during the funeral. Das, formerly associated with ISKCON, has been jailed since his 2024 arrest on sedition charges.
