B'luru prohibits using potable water for pools amid El Nino fears

Bengaluru's water supply board prohibited using drinking water for swimming pools and warned of penalties for violations amid concerns over El Niño's impact on monsoon rainfall. It also ordered water flow restrictors or aerators to be installed on all water fixtures by July 31. It claimed that this would reduce water consumption by 30-50% without causing any inconvenience to people.
