Baby orangutan seized in Thane, to be returned home to Indonesia

A male baby orangutan, around 3 years old, will be repatriated to Indonesia after it was seized from an apartment in Thane in 2024, The Indian Express reported. Thane forest officials had seized the orangutan along with nine other animal species which were illegally trafficked. The orangutan is currently being housed in Gujarat's Greens Zoological Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre.
