Backward Classes movement reignites as R Krishnaiah leads charge

Telangana government’s decision to issue GO 46, which caps reservations in Gram Panchayat elections at 50%, has sparked a fresh wave of anger from Backward Classes. The GO, which has reduced BC quota to 17%, has prompted the BC leaders and organisations, including R Krishnaiah, to accuse the Congress government of reneging on its promise of 42% reservation.
