Bacteria that can play dead & survive harsh sterilisation found

Scientists have discovered that Tersicoccus phoenicis, a rare bacterium found in clean rooms that can enter extreme metabolic silence and effectively 'play dead' to survive sterilisation checks. The microbe can endure dehydration, starvation and harsh cleaning. It revives only when exposed to a specific protein, making detection and elimination far more difficult.
