Bagalkot teacher dies in accident, students bid farewell

Bagalkot teacher Basavaraj Ramappa Shetty, 53, died after sustaining serious injuries in a road accident near Shirur. He had been undergoing treatment for nearly two weeks before succumbing to his injuries at a private hospital in Belagavi. Schoolchildren and villagers gathered to pay their final respects, shower flowers on his mortal remains and bade their beloved teacher a tearful farewell.
