Baidu rolls out paid driverless taxi service in Beijing

Chinese internet giant Baidu has rolled out its paid driverless taxi service in Beijing, making it the first company to commercialise autonomous driving operations in the country. The Apollo 'robotaxis' have been deployed in an area of about 3 square kilometre in Beijing. Each ride costs 30 yuan (₹340) and is open to passengers between ages 18 and 60.
