Baidu's EV arm's autonomous driving tech will be ahead of Tesla: CEO

The autonomous driving technology of Baidu's electric vehicle (EV) firm Jidu Auto will be one-generation ahead of Tesla, Baidu CEO Robin Li said. "Our understanding of smart vehicles is that being electric is the semi-final while being intelligent is the final," Li added. Jidu's first "robot" concept car, released in June, has two lidars while Tesla doesn't use lidar sensors.
