Balasaheb Thorat replaces Ashok Chavan as Maharashtra Cong Chief

Balasaheb Thorat was appointed as the president of the Congress' Maharashtra unit on Saturday, replacing Ashok Chavan who resigned in May. Thorat has served as Minister of Revenue and Khar Lands in the State government. Nitin Raut, Baswaraj M Patil, Vishwajeet Kadam, Yashomati Chandrakant Thakur and Muzaffer Hussain have been named the new working presidents.
