Ball fell straight down from sky: Norway head coach on 'wire touch' claim

Norway head coach Ståle Solbakken said he was convinced the ball struck a Spidercam wire before Jude Bellingham scored England's equaliser in their FIFA World Cup 2026 quarter-final. "The ball fell straight down from the sky...so it changed its direction," he said. When asked if he saw the ball touch the wire, Solbakken replied, "Many on the bench reacted immediately."
