Bangalore's air crisis is directly linked to its traffic: Study

A four-year study by NIAS, Bangalore University, and IITM has found deteriorating air quality in Bengaluru. Driven by a 10.6% annual spike in vehicle growth, everyday traffic emissions are trapping toxic carbon monoxide and black carbon. A shrinking evening atmospheric layer further locks these harmful pollutants at breathing level.
