Bangladesh boosts nuclear security; Army to oversee Rooppur Plant

Bangladesh is set to hand full security control of Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant to Army as Reactor-1 nears commissioning. A senior military delegation met IAEA officials in Vienna and held undisclosed defence talks in Paris to strengthen nuclear security. The RNPP, built with Russia’s Rosatom and supported by India, includes two VVER-1200 reactors and has faced delays in commercial operation.
