Bangladesh court doubles ex-PM Khaleda Zia's 5-year jail term

A Bangladesh court has doubled ex-PM Khaleda Zia's 5-year jail term handed over to her in a corruption case in February 2018. Zia, who claimed the case was politically motivated, was found guilty of embezzling 21 million taka (₹1.8 crore) meant for an orphanage. The decision comes a day after Zia was jailed for seven years in a separate case.
