Bangladesh government appoints Tamim Iqbal as new BCB president

The Bangladesh government appointed Tamim Iqbal as BCB president after dissolving the Aminul Islam-led board on Tuesday, with the 37-year-old becoming the youngest BCB chief. He will lead an 11-member ad-hoc committee. Aminul's tenure was marred by an election malpractice probe. The sports ministry had also questioned his handling of Bangladesh's withdrawal from T20 World Cup 2026.
