Bangladesh to hike garment workers' wages after violent protests
Bangladesh has agreed to raise the minimum wages of garment workers after five days of protests and clashes over better pay. The revised salaries are expected from January, but the increase has not been specified. Workers are demanding a 140% hike, from 12,500 taka to 30,000 taka monthly, amid rising living costs. Police said 58 officers were injured in demonstrations.
