Bangladesh turns to India for wheat as Delhi removes restrictions

After New Delhi lifted export restrictions, Bangladeshi importers have booked over 200,000 tonnes of wheat, according to reports. Wheat prices surged over 17% in Bangladesh last month. India had imposed restrictions on exports in 2022, after which Bangladesh imported wheat from Argentina, Ukraine, and Russia. The wheat being imported by Bangladesh is being priced at $305 to $326 a tonne.
