Bank employee steals coins worth ₹84 lakh to buy lottery tickets

A senior assistant manager at a bank in West Bengal stole coins worth ₹84 lakh over a period of 17 months to buy lottery tickets. The 35-year-old, whose crime was uncovered during an annual audit, was arrested on Friday and confessed soon after. Investigators said they are trying to figure out how he transported the coins out of the bank.
