Bank fined ₹10,000 for giving man’s account statement to wife

A district consumer forum in Ahmedabad has ordered Indian Overseas Bank to pay ₹10,000 to a customer for sharing his bank details with his wife. The customer sued the bank for furnishing three years' account statement to his wife without consulting him. The man, who has a matrimonial dispute pending, argued his wife could use it against him at court.
