Bar Council of India imposes 3-year ban on opening of new law colleges

The Bar Council of India (BCI) imposed a three-year ban on opening of new law colleges to check the mushrooming of law colleges in the country. The BCI said it will focus on improving the existing institutions in the next three years, and colleges without proper infrastructure will be shut. The ban will not apply for any National Law University.
