Bar councils have become men’s clubs, people take it like monopoly: CJI Surya Kant

Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant remarked that "bar councils have become men’s clubs" and "people take it like a monopoly." The CJI further remarked that "this has to be completely dismantled. The CJI-led bench of the Supreme Court directed the Chief Justices of the High Courts to nominate two co-opted women members to every state bar council.
