Barcelona's mayor, Jaume Collboni's plan focuses on raising the tourist tax for cruise ship passengers making shorter visits. Currently, they pay a daily tax of €7 (around $8). The proposed increase aims for a "substantial" rise, though the exact amount is yet to be determined. This comes after the city recently saw massive protests against overtourism.
