Bariatric surgery may beat Ozempic for long-term weight loss

A new study suggests bariatric surgery may lead to significantly greater long-term weight loss than Ozempic and similar GLP-1 drugs. Researchers found patients undergoing weight loss surgery lost nearly 26% of their body weight over two years, compared to around 15% for those on the medications. Experts note that both treatments still play important roles in obesity management.
