Bata fined ₹9,000 for asking customer to pay ₹3 for carry bag

Footwear company Bata has been fined ₹9,000 for charging Chandigarh resident Dinesh Parshad Raturi ₹3 for a carry bag for the purpose of "environmental safety". Chandigarh consumer forum said, "If Bata is an environmental activist, it should've given the same free of cost." Raturi alleged that with the bag carrying Bata's name, he was used as the company's advertisement agent.
