BBMP leverages AI to boost Bengaluru's green cover

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has identified nearly 150 locations across Bengaluru for a large-scale afforestation initiative. Using an AI-driven tool called Mapathon, the civic body aims to plant over 20,000 native and medicinal saplings. Mapathon employs satellite imagery and spatial mapping to pinpoint vacant land suitable for planting.
