BBMP to shut down 10,100-bedded COVID-19 facility as cases decline

The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) announced on Saturday that it is shutting down the COVID-19 Care Centre (CCC) at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC) as cases in Karnataka have begun to decline. The facility is equipped with 10,100 beds. The state government had converted many exhibition centres into CCCs when Bengaluru became a hotspot in Karnataka.
