BCCI’s better handling of Mustafizur could’ve averted T20 WC row: Ex-ICC official Sami-ul-Hasan

Sami-ul-Hasan Burney, ex-ICC Head of Communications from Pakistan, said crisis around T20 World Cup 2026 could've been avoided if BCCI had handled Mustafizur Rahman IPL issue more carefully. He noted BCCI could have informed KKR privately regarding player's release instead of making public announcement. "Sometimes an error of judgment leads to a statement with wider implications," Burney added.
