The Bar Council of India (BCI) has withdrawn upper-age restrictions for admission to three-year and five-year LLB programmes, opening legal education to aspirants of all ages. The Supreme Court, noting BCI's General Council resolution, disposed of a plea challenging the age limits as infructuous. BCI had earlier capped general-category candidates at 20 years for five-year law courses.
