BrewDog CEO James Watt paid nearly £500,000 (₹5 crore) out of his own pocket to winners of the company's ad campaign which mistakenly claimed they had hidden 50 solid gold cans in beer cases. "I falsely thought...cans were made from solid gold when they were...only gold-plated," Watt said. He offered full cash amount to all 50 winners as an alternative.
