Beirut grain silo damaged in 2020 blast collapses after weeks-long fire

A section of grain silo at Beirut port collapsed on Sunday, after weeks-long fire triggered by summer heat fermented grains. Last week, Lebanese officials had warned that a part of the silo could collapse after it started tilting. The incident reminded the capital city of the horrors of the 2020 explosion that left 215 people dead, Reuters reported.
