Belgium's Jérémy Doku issues statement after welcoming child, to rejoin WC squad

Footballer Jérémy Doku, who temporarily left Belgium's FIFA World Cup 2026 squad for birth of his first child, issued a statement after becoming father. Expressing gratitude to well-wishers, he noted, "Welcoming my son into the world is one of the greatest blessings God has ever given me...It's time to get back to football and represent my country on biggest stage."
