Bengal needs 42 election tribunals for 3.7 mn SIR appeals: EC to SC

Election Commission informed the Supreme Court that a total of 42 election tribunals are needed in West Bengal to address 3.7 million appeals over names deleted from electoral rolls during SIR. Over 2.2 million appeals have been filed by excluded voters while 1.6 million are appeals challenging inclusion of voters in electoral rolls. West Bengal currently has 19 election tribunals.
