Bengal's refugees faced CPM crackdown, aid blocked: Mrityunjay

Politician Mrityunjay Sharma revealed that Bengali Hindu refugees settled on the uninhabited Sundarbans island of Marichjhapi without taking any government funds, building clinics, schools, and a community. In response, the CPM imposed Section 144, blocked food and water supplies, and shot people who tried to fetch drinking water. The real number of deaths from the incident remains unknown.
