Bengali made compulsory till Class 10 in West Bengal schools

West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee has announced that school students across the state, irrespective of boards, will have to study Bengali as a compulsory subject upto Class 10. "We will consult our legal team on whether we need a separate law or just a special approval from the state cabinet will suffice in effecting this change," Chatterjee added.
