Bengaluru civic body bans animal slaughter on Oct 2 for Gandhi Jayanti

Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has ordered a ban on animal slaughter and the sale of meat on October 2 on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. The civic body had earlier also issued a similar order on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmashtami. Gandhi Jayanti is celebrated annually to mark the birth of Mahatma Gandhi.
