Bengaluru farmer turns baby bottle gourd into export crop

Bengaluru farmer Karigowda began cultivating baby bottle gourd on his 3.5-acre farm after learning about its overseas demand. He now harvests around one tonne daily for the Qatar market during the September-December season. With sales of ₹50,000 a day at ₹50 per kg, brokers handle exports of the crop.
