Bengaluru metro expands with new depots to support growing fleet

The Baiyappanahalli depot is undergoing a major remodel, becoming the first in the network to feature two levels. This depot, costing ₹249.19 crore, will handle trains for the Outer Ring Road (Phase-2A) and Airport Lines (Phase-2B), which operate in opposite directions. The remodel includes an underground level with 21 stabling lines and an at-grade level with 20 lines.
