Bengaluru metro raises minimum card balance from ₹8.50 to ₹50

Namma Metro operator Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has hiked the minimum balance required for smart cards to enter a station from ₹8.50 to ₹50. "People were misusing the minimum balance," said BMRCL spokesperson. "People used to travel with low balance and claim that they don't have money, cash or card at the destination," he added.
