Bengaluru records highest-ever single-day rainfall in April

Bengaluru recorded 111.5 mm of rainfall on Wednesday, the highest-ever single-day rainfall in April, according to IMD. The previous April 24-hour rainfall record of 108.6 mm was set on April 19, 2001. The heavy showers triggered widespread flooding and traffic chaos. Ten people lost their lives in the city, including seven in a hospital building collapse caused by heavy rains.
