Bengaluru records hottest July day in 112 years

Bengaluru recorded its hottest July day in 112 years, with the temperature reaching 33.6°C. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the unusual heat is due to a weak southwest monsoon, El Niño, a neutral Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD), and an unfavourable Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO).
