BESCOM engineer caught taking bribe of ₹1.3 lakh in Bengaluru

An assistant engineer of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) was caught taking a bribe of ₹1.3 lakh by Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials on Monday. The engineer reportedly demanded ₹3 lakh to provide electricity connection to an apartment in Marappa Garden near Benson Town. ACB officials claim that an electrical contractor from RT Nagar requested for the line approval.
