BESCOM has increased domestic electricity tariffs in Bengaluru by 56 paise per unit from May 1. Approved by the Karnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission (KERC), the hike is aimed at covering a ₹2,068 crore revenue deficit for FY 2024–25. Households using 100–200 units per month are likely to see higher bills, especially those outside the Gruha Jyothi scheme.
