Bharti Airtel names COO Shashwat Sharma as MD & CEO

Bharti Airtel on Monday said that current COO Shashwat Sharma will be appointed as MD & CEO on January 1, 2026. The telecom major's current MD & CEO Gopal Vittal will move into the role of Executive Vice Chairman. Shashwat, an IIM Ahemdabad alumnus, joined Airtel in 2018 as Chief Marketing and Brand Officer.
