Biden names Indian-American Neera Tanden as chief of budget team

US President-elect Joe Biden on Monday nominated Indian-American Neera Tanden as Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), who will be responsible for managing Biden administration's budget. Tanden, if confirmed by the US Senate, would be the first woman of colour and first Indian-American to lead the OMB. Some Republican senators have opposed Tanden's nomination.
